How to Choose Your Wedding Colors

The color scheme a woman chooses for her wedding is important because it not only reflects the personality of the bride and tone of the wedding, it also provides background for the wedding photos. Your bridesmaids will wear the palette you choose, so the color should flatter them. You’ll use color in other places, too. Linens, flowers, personalized favors, and décor will all reflect your choice of hue.

Close your eyes and reflect on the colors of summer. Sunny yellow, watermelon, and pool blue come to mind. When we think of autumn, we often picture soft gold, pumpkin, and chocolate. Brighter hues are in store for a winter wedding. Deep shades of purple, cranberry, or navy are appropriate, as well as a black-and-white color scheme. A spring wedding is the perfect time for a new beginning. Colors like lavender, rose pink, and of course spring green, take the lead.

You’ll need to consider the existing colors in your wedding and reception venues so there won’t be any mismatch. Bring color swatches with you to check that your palette blends with walls, rugs, and furniture. Pastel shades might not go well in a country club with dark wallpaper and mahogany furniture, so adjust accordingly. Similarly, strong hues could overwhelm a simple garden wedding.

A casual wedding on an exotic beach calls for to bright colors, except that you choose beach
wedding dresses. How about using tropical flowers as inspiration? Hot pink, bright orange, and deep yellow flowers make beautiful bouquets, garlands, and centerpieces. Add natural accents like bamboo and seashells. Bridesmaids can wear complimentary-hued tea length bridesmaid dresses and sport hibiscus in their hair. Show your hospitality by providing wedding favors like treats in mini tin pails or seashell tealights.

If you find your wedding venue already heavy on the décor, use some crafty thinking to work your color scheme into it. The best approach is to make your primary color neutral. Cream, gray, or white looks beautiful accented with heavier colors. Create centerpieces of white hydrangeas with bright blue iris or yellow narcissus. Your bridesmaids will wear neutral dresses, such as white bridesmaid dresses, pink bridesmaid dresses, accented with a colorful sash and carry a bouquet of bright flowers. Guests will enjoy receiving favors of “champagne” bubbles or frosted glass coasters.

A garden wedding doesn’t need too much added color. Flowers should compliment the existing gardens and bridesmaid dresses should be in simple, solid hues, like orange bridesmaid dresses, black bridesmaid dresses, red bridesmaid dresses. There is probably enough green, so use other colors like peach, yellow, and lilac. Tables can be set with lace and vintage touches. Gift your guests with something nostalgic like a scented soap or paper fan.

Practical Tips for Choosing Beach Wedding Dress

Beach weddings are becoming a popular alternative for people who want a casual, romantic wedding. To match the relaxed and fun atmosphere of the beach, it is important to select the appropriate beach wedding attire.

Here are a few tips and ideas for you while choosing the perfect bridal outfit:

1. Length: You need to think very carefully about the length of the dress; sand is soft and with every step you will sink slightly so it’s advisable to forego the usual train and go for something shorter. Some women opt for a shorter gown for a beach wedding dress so they can pose near the water, and walk freely. The length of cocktail dresses is a good example, because it keeps the sand off your dress and it allows for ease of movement. It’s also suggested to avoid heavy beading or multiple layers since it’s going to be hotter on the beach. Remember, the bride’s beach wedding dress and the beach wedding bridesmaid dresses should also have matching hem lengths.

2. Materials: You can chose materials like silk, organza and many more. But it is recommended that you opt for fabrics such as crepe, charmeuse, duchesse satin, damask, chiffon and illusion nets, to escape the humidity and the heat. Silk might also be too elegant for a beach wedding if your wedding style is for casual wedding dresses.

3. Color: Choosing the color of your beach wedding dress is something that needs a little consideration. For example, what time of day are you getting married and will you already have a tan. If the ceremony takes place at sunset many colours turn slightly pastel and so therefore choosing an ivory gown might suit the occasion.
And, of course, the color of your dress should also work with your skin tone.

4. Accessories:  A crown of woven flowers with beads is a lovely option for your beach wedding head wear. You may like to wear your hair long and natural with flowers or a flower headband or you may want to wear a wide brimmed hat to complete the beach look. Veil is not practical because it may become out of control with the wind.

Wear white pearls with a white dress and ivory pearls with an ivory color beach wedding dress. You can also add pearl details in a headband, earrings, or necklace.

5. Footwear:
If you will not go with bare feet for your beach wedding, then low heel, slip-on sandals or flip flops are the most wonderful choice for beach wedding footwear.

There are so many things to think about when planning a beach wedding but getting your dress right is probably the most important. And during the economic downturn, it’s better to consider budget wedding planning. Apart from normal wedding dress stores, you can also buy discount wedding dress and wholesale beach wedding dress online.

Have a great beach wedding!

How to Choose Harmonizing Bridesmaid Dress Colors

What color bridesmaid gown is most appropriate for your wedding?
Here are some thoughts on choosing a color for your bridesmaid dresses.

Black. Black gowns are most appropriate for an elegant evening ceremony. However, black can be made a bit more casual if you go with a shorter dress or by combining it with white or another light color. This color looks good on most women and is slimming, and black bridesmaid  dresses usually are easy to recycle for a later formal occasion.

Red. Red is a bold color choice. Like black, it tends to work best for the elegant evening wedding, but can be toned down if red bridesmaid dresses is shorter or contains other colors. To avoid the ‘fire engine” effect, choose a shade that’s a little muted, and to tone down the sexual connotations of this color, choose a modest Bridesmaid dress. Red often looks best on women with olive or brown skin.

Pink. Pink signifies innocence and youthful femininity. It’s a good choice for a springtime, outdoor wedding, but might not be appropriate for older bridesmaids. A more sophisticated choice is rum pink bridesmaid dresses, which is feminine and pretty without looking too prom-like. You can also tone down the prom look by keeping the dress simple, without frilly bows and poofy stuff.
Navy blue or royal blue. Dark shades of blue can be a good alternative to black. They’re sophisticated, slimming, and look good on most women, but don’t have that mourning connotation. Dark shades of blue bridesmaid dresses work well with older bridesmaids. If you choose royal blue, don’t pick too bright of a shade, because that screams bad ’80s prom dress. If you choose navy, try not to go too dark or else the dresses might clash with the tuxedos.

Maroon and hunter green. Along with navy blue, maroon and hunter green are clean, vivid, “preppy” colors. They’re dark and colorful without being too overpowering. Green bridesmaid dresses is hard for some women to pull off, especially if you choose a brighter kelly green.

Purple. Purple can be a good alternative to red. It’s bold and colorful, but doesn’t come with red’s sexual connotations. Like red, purple bridesmaid dressescan make a woman with pale skin look paler, but it can also complement yellowish skin tones. Choose shades carefully, as some can be pretty tacky. Purple doesn’t always look good on heavier bridesmaids.

Orange. Orange is in vogue, especially subtle shades of peach and coral. Not everyone can pull off orange, though, especially darker and brighter shades. Bright orange bridesmaid dresses tends to look better on women with dark skin.

Planning Colors for Your Wedding: Wedding Dresses, Flowers, and More!

Filed under: Wedding Colors — Tags: — Neverland @ 10:42 pm

Dreaming about your wedding is one thing; planning it is another. From wedding dresses to cakes and tuxedos to flowers - every aspect of your wedding must be carefully planned to ‘fall in place’ on the big day! If you’ve been to one wedding or several, you probably realize the importance of wedding color . Everything about the wedding is planned according the colors the bride chooses. So, here’s a quick guide to help you plan your wedding colors.

Choose the Right Colors for Your Wedding Gowns

Many brides use their favorite colors for their wedding dresses - pink, red, fuchsia, burgundy, plum, mauve, purple, or blue. But before you choose colors, see if you can’t find some photos of various weddings from the past. Look at a variety of color patterns and combinations before making your choice. You might find colors that you like much better than your usual favorites.

Consider how the colors of your wedding dresses will look with other colorful items once it is all put together for the big wedding day. The bridesmaid dresses will be matched with flowers, tuxedos, mother of the bride gowns, flower girl gowns, accessories, and even the reception decor.

Wedding Dresses with a Touch of Color

A growing trend is to add a touch of color to the brides wedding gown. This is perfect for the bride who wants more than the traditional wedding gown. Some brides have color sprinkled throughout their wedding gowns with embroidery. The gorgeous embroidery patterns come to life on the wedding dress when color highlights are added. These are usually available in a variety of colors painted on an ivory white wedding gown.

Test Wedding Color Combinations

Don’t be afraid to match unusual colors before making your choice. Some color combinations might surprise you. For example, not many would choose bright peach, bright yellow and white, but these are actually beautiful when coordinated together in wedding flower arrangements with yellow dresses! Try out a variety of combinations to find the right wedding colors for you.

Choose Colors that Complement You

It’s your special day. Choose colors that complement your hair and skin tone. You’ll want colors that make you look wonderful on your wedding day. If you normally look great in red, then you’ll probably look fantastic amidst red decor and red bridesmaid dresses. Maybe you can even add some red embroidery colors to your wedding gown. Whatever color suits you should work fine for the wedding.

Other Considerations

Other things to consider before choosing your wedding colors include the colors of the church or building where the wedding will be held as well as the reception hall, the types of flowers available for that time of year (if using real ones), and the availability of wedding dresses in those colors.

Once you choose colors for your wedding dresses and bridal bouquets, you’re ready to start planning the wedding. To save time, you can find a wide variety of wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, and even prom dresses online.

Fall Brides Maid Dress Colors

Fall is one season where the colors red, orange and brown are used.  This is because the colors are the ones we usually see during this season.  The withering leaves and the dried up branches under the warm glow of the sun produces the effect.

Having a wedding during this season will give you an option to use red flower girl gowns or red bridesmaid dresses, orange bridesmaid gowns , and brown bridesmaid dresses as colors for the wedding .It is also applicable to the dresses to be worn by the bridesmaids.

Fall brides maid dress colors are not limited to red Bridesmaid Gowns, brown Bridesmaid Gowns and orange Bridesmaid Gowns.  It is nice to experiment with the colors and shades of fall when planning for the bridesmaid dresses.  Since it is the bride who gets to choose what dresses and what colors must be worn, it is important to remember that every bridesmaid must look at her best.

One fall bride’s maid dress color is brown.  Brown is not limited to a single shade.  It comes in a wide variety but in the case of a fall wedding, the darker and solid colors of brown are preferred.  The warm color of brown resembles the color of the wood and leaves that are drying up during the fall season.  It also has the earthy feel which is appropriate for the season.  Using brown as fall bride’s maid dress color is also ideal.  Brown will look good in almost all skin tones.

Orange is another option for fall bridesmaid dress color.  Orange is also a warm color appropriate for the fall season.  Aside from its warm feel, orange also has a livelier appeal than brown.  This color also accentuates great details in a wedding.

Red bridesmaid dress is a classic bridesmaid dress color.  In fact, red is not just loved during the fall.  It is also used in all other seasons.  This is because red has been known as the color of love.  It is bold, sweet, romantic and bubbly.

As mentioned earlier, fall colors are not limited to brown, orange and red.  You may also use other colors such as yellow, pale green and bronze.

Wedding dresses with color

The tradition of white wedding dresses, rather than colored wedding dresses is a fairly recent development in terms of the history of bridal gowns. It wasn’t until the Victorian era (and the cheaper cost of materials that the industrial revolution afforded) that a distinct emphasis was placed on the color white and its symbolism of feminine purity and chastity.

Prior to this era wedding dresses with color were the norm rather than the exception. Colors usually reflected local culture and traditions, or perhaps the color of the ruling noble house and many times if the bride was part of a working class family then the wedding gown was just the color of the best dress the bride owned.
In modern times there are many reasons to choose colored bridal gowns: perhaps the color harmonizes with the bridesmaids dresses and the wedding theme, or the bride wants to make a bold statement while oozing sassiness, or perhaps it was love at first site with that stunning head-turner colored wedding dress which will be a talked about for months after the wedding. But what ever the reason, colored wedding gowns usually suit forward thinkers unbound by (sometimes) irrelevant traditions.

Ideas for wedding dresses with color

Red Bridal Gowns

The red bridal gowns are nothing new to wedding ceremonies it has been a part of ancient Muslim, Indian and Chinese cultures for millennia. The color red is associated with good luck and fertility.

Pink Bridal Gowns

Why are pink wedding gowns such a fantastic choice? Pink is unique, feminine and symbolizes passion and love. Plus pink is a color that compliments a wide range of skin tones!

Black Bridal Gowns

Why a black bridal gown, are you a Goth? Actually black bridal gowns have been used in many cultures for centuries. In Spain some Roman Catholic brides still will wear black bridal gowns as a symbol of devotion to their partner until death. And how quickly history is forgotten, in Western cultures black gowns were seen as a statement of wealth.

Black is slimming, classy, and, because it’s a very common color for formal occasions, black wedding gowns or black bridesmaid gowns can be used again, unlike white wedding gowns which largely get shelved.

Champagne or Gold Bridal Gowns

Not only for golden wedding anniversaries, gold is a sophisticated and warm color that compliments a variety of skin tones. Gold Bridal Gowns also gives the possibility of gorgeous color combinations for your bridesmaids, flower girls and general wedding theme.

Blue Bridal Dress

One can argue that the blue bridal gowns are more traditional than white. In fact the color blue was associated with the Virgin Mary and was worn to symbolize purity, chastity, and faithfulness. The white wedding gown, instead, gained popularity as a symbol of wealth in the mid 19th Century.

Lavender or Purple Wedding Dress

Purple traditionally represents royalty, luxury, authority, creativity and is a deeply spiritual color. Only a bride from a very wealthy medieval family could wear a purple wedding dress, this was due to the outrageous price of purple dye.
There are many shades of purple including lilac to lavender, what better color for a fun creative wedding theme?!

Tell you the wedding color of 2009

White, as we all know, is the traditional color for a Wedding dress .

But times they are a-changing; brides are throwing caution to the wind by opting instead for more contemporary colors for their special day, such as red wedding gowns, pink wedding gowns and so on .

Some of the popular wedding colors from 2007 and 2008, lilac with purple tones, and chocolate brown and soft greens, may continue into 2009 though an explosion in fresher, brighter colors is being predicted by all the experts.

Bright orange - Works well when soft peach tones, introduce gerberas or tiger lilies into bridal bouquets and floral centerpieces.

It is true. Orange really is the IT color for 2009. For spring or summer weddings pair bright orange with aqua or turquoise to create a tropical feel. Autumn brides can use deep orange paired with cream, light gold, plum or brown, while winter brides could choose deep navy, charcoal or purple .

Pink For Fall Weddings

pink flower girl dress

pink flower girl dress

Pink is one of the favorite colors of brides and for weddings. It can be easy enough to imagine how pink can be incorporated into a pastel spring wedding, but a little trickier to figure out how to include pink into a fall wedding. But never fears, as here are some great suggestions on how to use a pink color scheme for an autumn wedding in a way that suits the season.

Pink bridesmaid gowns are lovely color bridesmaid dresses and they can definitely work for a fall wedding. Fabric choices are going to be very important here. The organza dress that looked so pretty for a June wedding will be too flimsy and summery for a wedding in October. On the other hand, if you take that same shade of pink and find it in a heavy silk dupioni with a wonderful slubby texture, it would make for fabulous bridesmaid dresses in the chillier months of the year. Another idea is to choose a more muted pink, such as a dusty rose, to make it fit in with the more subdued color palettes that suit a cool weather wedding.

Pink Flower Girl Dresses are the most popular. A pale frosted pink is usually the shade of pink most used.

White flower girl gowns are the second most popular. When the flower girl is wearing a white dress, the bride may have her wear a dress that is very similar to the brides wedding gown.

The corset in flower girl gowns with shoulder straps is decorated with exquisite embroidery made of the golden thread. The skirt and the corset are made of sateen and there is a train and flounces at the back. Model Elisabeth is very comfortable and convenient, it don’t hinder in movement. So it will be very nice in the flower girl dress satin at any festivity.

Choosing Your Wedding Colors

Having specific wedding colors can help give a visual unity, and help your wedding seem more elegant, and even more expensive than it really is. Choosing your wedding colors may seem a bit daunting, especially if you aren’t particularly visually oriented or your partner is color-blind and absolutely no help. Yet its really quite easy.

Most people base their wedding colors on a favorite shade or favorite flower. You’ll want to choose one primary and one or two accents. Start off by seeing if there are any predetermined factors.

• Does either the reception or ceremony site have strong colors?
• Are you set on having a particular flower?
• Have you already chosen your bridesmaid dresses?

If so, you’re halfway to finding your wedding colors. If not, start by thinking about the season when your ceremony will take place. Spring and summer affairs usually include pastels or bright. Winter suggests deep purples, burgundies, grey-greens, and silvers. Fall brings harvest tones - oranges, reds, and yellows.

What to avoid:

• Too much black - while sophisticated, it can end up looking like a funeral, rather than a celebration. If you love black, balance it out with a bright color, or lots of crisp white.
• Losing your personality - Don’t just do pastels because I’ve suggested it above. Think about what you wear normally in your clothing and the shades you’ve used to decorate your home. These are probably colors you are comfortable around already.
• Picking too many wedding colors - two are perfect, and three will still work, but any more than three wedding colors will end up looking not unified and strange. The purpose of wedding colors is to tie everything together, and the best way to do this is to have everything in one of two shades.

If you have a favorite shade, but don’t know what else will go with it, try consulting a simple color wheel. Artists and designers have used this tool for years as a design principle.

• Consider going monochromatic; many shades of one color. A bride I worked with used blue for her ceremony by the sea. Each  bridesmaid had a different shade of   blue for her dress, and the bouquets include irises, lilies, and delphinium, along with several white varieties of flowers.
• Consider having related tones; ones adjacent to each other on the color wheel. A bride I’m assisting now has green bridesmaid dresses with blue sashes. You might also consider green bridesmaid gowns and yellow Bridesmaid Gowns, or red Bridesmaid Gowns, purple Bridesmaid Dresses and blue Bridesmaid Gowns.
• Consider having complementary shades- located opposite each other on the color wheel. For example, lavender and pale yellow, or forest green and burgundy.
• If you really love one hue in particular, you might want to highlight it among neutrals. So, bridesmaid dresses might be cream bridesmaid gowns with purple  sashes, groomsmen might wear off-white tuxedos with purple boutonnieres, and bouquets might be stephanotis, white roses, and lavender sweet pea.

Once you have some idea of your wedding colors, try out this handy web tool to see how they will look together.

Choosing Your Wedding Color Scheme

The colors you choose for your wedding day set the style and tone for your entire event.  You can use color in your bridesmaids’ dresses, decorations, cake, favors, flowers, accessories, table linens and even the invitations!

Choose colors you love, but also consider the following:

• Where is the wedding and reception?  Choose colors that complement the setting.  Consider the carpeting, drapery and decor, etc.

• What mood do you want to create?  Vibrant colors add drama, while soft colors evoke a more romantic atmosphere.

• What time of year will you marry?  The season may influence your color scheme.  Spring and summer colors tend to be lighter like Pink Wedding Gowns, Red Wedding Dresses, White Wedding Dresses, Ivory Wedding Gowns, Blue Wedding Gowns  and  so on while fall and winter colors are generally darker.

Although much has been written on how colors effect our moods and emotions, colors mean different things in different cultures, so avoid focusing too much on them.  The following two tools can help you choose a coordinated color scheme.

Color Wheel - A color wheel helps you choose coordinating colors.  It is made out of three primary colors: red, blue and yellow, plus a blend of in-between colors.  Here are three popular strategies to choosing your colors:

- “Complementary” colors means choosing colors that are opposite each other on the wheel, such as red and green.
 - “Analogous” means the colors lie next to each other on the wheel, such as red, red-orange, and orange.

- “Monochromatic” means variations of the same tone, such as bright red, dark red, etc.

Choosing the coordinated colors is very important, so please be careful of selecting your Bridesmaid Dresses, Wedding Dresses, and related things.
