Most of the expensive dresses are bought to wear in the evening parties. Evening dresses have a charm in them and a good color combination adds much more spark in the dress. Making color combinations sometime becomes much harder and a wrong comparison or a mismatch can spoil the entire beauty. Therefore the color combination should be given the much more attention especially when buying an expensive dress for the evening party. Various seasons have their own colors formals and before deciding a color as well as the dress pattern, one should make sure that this particular style and color goes well with the body type. There are some common colors like pastel shades which can create disaster and should be avoided for a perfect evening party. There are many kind of color dresses like green evening dresses, blue evening dresses, red evening dresses, orange evening dresses and so on. Now list several kinds for you.

Gold Evening Dresses - The color gold is in fashion this season and will be the rage in many of the party scenes. Christmas and New Year is fast approaching and you could be the diva of the evening if you choose the golden color for your evening dress and carry it off well.

Metallic shades - Besides gold, you could try the silver or the copper shades for the ethereal romantic evening. Metallic shades are in vogue now and coupled with the right accessories, they can lend a very unique style to your persona. Gowns in metallic silver with lace work are some varieties of dresses in this category that look great on a toned body. Tops in shades of copper go well with trousers if the evening is going to be a formal one. You could use a shimmering mascara to give a soft look to the eyes. Tunics are also available in the silver range or in grey for a light evening. Avoid bright shades of lipstick. They kill the ensemble. Gold ballet shoes with silver or any metallic shade will complete the look for a perfect evening.

Black Evening Dresses -Black is a very versatile and a flattering color that will suit any body type. If you are little on the chubbier side, black is magical in making you look trimmer. If you are on the thinner side, black flatters your figure. Black gowns, tunics, off shoulder mini dresses and footless tights are great for evening dresses.

Top Tips for Wedding Fashion 2010

A wedding ceremony is something that could be connected with fashion. Just as the ramp updates its yearly collection, so does wedding trends. You might be interested about what’s in and out of the wedding aisle and venue for 2009. The line-up of creations and recommendations might help you get an idea for the next in-thing in preparing for your wedding day.
There are different beliefs and practices when it comes to planning for a wedding ceremony. Lifestyle magazines, fashion designers and even wedding reception experts and planners have fused their ideas together to come up with something new for 2009.
For 2010 you can have ball gown wedding dresses styles based on pretty much any era of fashion and still be extremely fashionable!
• For those of you who are hopeless romantics and want the real “princess” experience, the good news is that the black bridesmaid dresses are in fashion, not just in white. Colors are expected to be seen on 2010 brides or bridesmaids.
• The silhouette dress is a must for brides with a perfect hourglass figure.
• We are really happy to see that Vintage dresses from the 50’s are popular for 2010. Either knee length, tea length dressers, ball gown prom dresses with full skirts, bolero jackets, short gloves with birdcage veils. The Black Evening Dresses are the must for the less formal wedding and for brides with great legs and shoes
• There are lots of belted dresses for 2010. One of my favourites is the wonderful 50’s style full length black prom dresses that is so flattering.
One of the best websites we have seen for stunning dresses ( and for 2010 at much more affordable prices than her previous collections) is the www.helenebridal.com site. This collection brought out colors, debuting a green strapless wedding gown with layers of light silks, the ball gown evening dresses and green silk wrap at the waist. The belt accessory seemed to be more popular with this collection of wedding gowns. There was a gown with a belt was a light tan color in flowing layers; the gown was stunning. One of my favourites from the 2010 Vera Wang collection of gowns was a strapless white gown with a bodice that, at the top, is a silvery beaded pattern, which softly tapers to the waist and wraps around the back, tied in a bow. Then the silhouette flows out in layers of lace; it looked like a gown that a princess would be proud to wear.

Formal Evening Wear

Formal evening wear means something different to everyone. Fortunately, there are social and cultural cues that you can use to determine exactly what should be worn to various events in various areas of the country. As a hard and fast rule, however, you want to be sure that you’re dressed appropriately for a night on the town. You should incorporate a coat, tie and slacks for men and well-fitted short evening dresses that hits your knees or lower for women.

Function
The function of formal wear is to present yourself as done-up, poised and as put together as possible to honor the celebratory nature of an event. Because the word “formal” is usually associated with little black evening dresses ,blue evening dresses and black-colored tuxedos, darker, more rich colors tend to dominate formal evening wear, though this doesn’t have to be the case. Many guests try to incorporate a seasonal or festive color into their formal ensemble. This means wearing jewel colors during the holidays, pastel colors at weddings and whites, blues, reds and oranges to events located near the beach or on a yacht.
Features
Formal evening wear for women usually consists of  long evening dresses with beading, lace, taffeta or intricate embroidery in a dark color. It is accompanied by a formal hairstyle, which usually consists of curls, jeweled hair clips or hair pulled back into a neat updo, sparkling jewelry and usually a beaded clutch or small purse. For men, formal evening wear usually means a tuxedo, though it can mean a nice suit, depending upon what the invitation specifies.
Time Frame
Most formal events are held in the evening and usually begin around 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. depending on whether a cocktail hour will be held before dinner, which is usually served at 7 p.m or later. Because formal events begin after dark and usually provide both indoor and outdoor space, you may want to bring a nice coat that will complement your formal evening wear. For men, this could be a long black coat that goes down to your mid-thighs or knees. For women, feathered, sparkly, sheer or sequined jackets, fur (or faux fur) coat, peacoats or shawls will work. If you don’t think you’ll need your coat once you arrive at the event, be sure to check it at the front desk or check-in area.
Types
Determining what type of formal evening wear is required is half the battle when it comes to choosing the proper attire. There is semi-formal evening wear, which means that dresses can be ankle-length or tea length evening dresses and men can wear coats and trousers but don’t need tuxedos; black-tie, which means women wear long cocktail dresses or evening-appropriate separate pieces and men wear tuxedos; white-tie, which means women wear long evening dresses or gowns and men wear tuxedos with white ties and vests. There are many different types of events that call for some level of “formal wear.” School dances, such as prom dresses, homecoming dresses and formal evening wear are needed to be in the formal evening occasions, as can weddings, rehearsal dinners, galas, fundraisers, operas, beauty pageants, awards shows, banquets, débutante balls, garden parties and some holiday festivities. Invitations that specify cocktail attire, informal, dressy casual or creative black tie usually afford you more flexibility and do not call for formal evening attire.

How to Choose Evening Dresses That Will Impress Everyone

One look that’s getting a lot of attention these days is the short evening dress. They work for the vast majority of functions, other than the extremely formal, and offer something a little different. But how do you choose one? It’s important to end up with a short evening dress that flatters your body type, doesn’t look or feel awkward and uncomfortable, and is appropriate for the event you’re attending. Let’s take a look at a few of your options, and how to choose the right dress for you.
We all know you can’t go wrong with little black evening dresses, but it has to be the right little black dress. Short evening dresses can be classy, or way over the top, depending on how they’re worn. Don’t go super short in most cases, and remember how much you’re revealing. In many cases, a mini-dress shouldn’t show too much cleavage - it all seems like too much. Accentuate your assets, but don’t put them on a platter!
Body type will affect the short evening dress you choose, as well. Very slender women will find that a tight or clinging evening dress works well for them. However, women who have even a small amount of body fat won’t find this style as flattering. Something less clinging, or a dress that clings only where you want it to, will do your figure more favors.
Tailored gowns are a good choice for plus sized women, since they make the most of your figure pluses without highlighting your minuses. Take the time to try on multiple different choices, and remember that you can always have your short evening dress altered. A good fit is an important consideration!
How about color? There are more choices on the market than black, though black is a wonderful all purpose choice. When choosing color and pattern, think about your own skin coloration. Very pale women often have trouble with green evening dresses, while women with dark skin do very well in strong tones such as blue evening dresses. Think about what areas of the dress will be against your skin and how they’ll affect the way you look. No one wants to buy a beautiful gown that makes them look sickly and unhealthy, after all.
Fashion is important, as well. Most of us won’t be wearing our short evening dresses frequently, so we’ll want them to last a while. Remember to choose patterns and fabrics that will stay in style, even after the current fads are over. Classic styling is more likely to be a hit for many years to come. While the latest fashion might be attractive, it’ll date itself quickly. To keep from having to buy all over again in a few years, choose carefully.
It’s not really all that hard to get a great short evening dress. Just take the time to think about who you are, what you look like, and what flatters you. Pick a gown that’s versatile and classic in appearance, and one that’ll work for many different functions. Don’t overdo it, and get a second opinion if you aren’t sure about anything. The result will be a dress that looks great, feels good on you and won’t make you stick out while you have a great time choosing the cheap evening dresses.

Halter Evening Dresses are one of the sexiest formal looks around. Several versions exist including a tie-behind-the-neck look. Straps vary in size, width and fabrics. A halter dress draws attention to the upper half of the body including the face, shoulders and bust line. This is great to draw unwanted attention away from the hips and legs. Today, jewel-tones, bright and rich fabrics do well for short evening dresses. Most cocktail dresses can be easily accessorized with pearls, diamond, gold and silver. If you want to hide wide hips, opt for Strapless Evening Dresses or Cap Sleeves Evening Dresses.

For simplicity, nothing beats Sheath Evening Dresses. They are flattering with clean lines to keep the dress from overwhelming your figure. The sheath evening dress can be dressed up or down as the situation dictates.

The jacket evening dress provides more coverage without the fuss of a wrap. The matching evening dresses and jacket is perfect for anniversaries and weddings. Not every figure looks best in a one piece evening dress. For those hard-to-fit bodies, a dressy separate can do the trick. Choose one special piece and mix it with a solid piece for that special occasion.
Off the shoulder dresses instantly shows off lots of skin but not in areas that make you uncomfortable. Accentuate the look with a great necklace piece or brooch.
